By booking or attending an hypnotherapy session with me (Donato Giuseppe Leo, the hypnotherapist) you (the client) acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:

HYPNOTHERAPY

The success of the hypnotherapy sessions largely relies on your motivation and commitment to the hypnotherapy process. You agree to be fully committed to the hypnotherapy process, which may include self-work (e.g., practising self-hypnosis at home) where necessary. You also agree to be committed in attending your sessions and arriving on time.

You agree that my hypnotherapy service is offered on the basis of the information that you have supplied, which you confirm to be complete and truthful.

You are free to end or withdraw from hypnotherapy at any time. The cost of any sessions paid for in advance but not used will be refunded on request, subject to the details described in my cancellation policy.

Ongoing hypnotherapy sessions will always be discussed with you and you will have the right to express your preferences regarding the planning of the sessions, the objectives you want to work on, and the time frame of the sessions.

SESSIONS

Your hypnotherapy session will last approximately 50 to 60 minutes. Your session will take place online via video-conference software (e.g., Zoom). You are entitled to a free initial online consultation (15 minutes, with no obligation) to discuss any question you may have about starting hypnotherapy. 

You agree to connect to your booked session five minutes before its start to check that the necessary equipment to conduct the session is in place and it is correctly working (e.g., internet connection, camera, microphone, etc).  

If you are running late, please let me know as soon as possible. In the event you are late to your session, I will do my best to make a full session available where my schedule allows (depending on subsequent bookings in my agenda). If the length of your session should be reduced due to your late arrival then the session fee remains payable in full. You have the right to terminate treatment at any time including: prior to a session (taking into account the 48 hours’ notice described in the cancellation policy below), at the beginning of, or during a session. However, if the session has already commenced, then the session fee remains payable in full.

You agree that you are responsible for ensuring that you have all the necessary equipment to conduct the online session, such as a good internet connection and a charged device that can receive a video call. You agree that you are personally responsible for monitoring your own environment for any distractions which may adversely affect the outcome of the sessions (e.g, phones and other devices, external noises, pets, children, etc.), and you accept that if these conditions are not met then the session may be terminated without notice or reimbursement. You understand and agree that your session is personal in nature, and you will not allow other individuals to attend the session without my specific permission. You also understand that the sessions cannot be recorded.

You also understand that it is your responsibility to provide a contact number of someone (friend or relative) who could assist in the case of any sort of emergency, and that you have confirmed with that person that they are available to be contacted for the full duration of the session.

SESSION FEES

Standard hypnotherapy sessions are 50-60 minutes in duration and held online via video-conference software (e.g., Zoom). Prices are listed below:

1. Single session: £80*
2. 4 sessions pack: £288
3. 8 sessions pack: £544
4. 12 sessions pack: £768

You can book an initial free consultation (15 min) with no obligation. Same terms and conditions apply.

Sessions are allocated weekly (1 per week), at declining intervals as indicated by your progress and by mutual agreement, unless otherwise negotiated.

*Students are entitled to a 15% discount on single sessions.

Fees have to be paid by bank transfer a minimum of 48h prior the session. I reserve the right to change my fees at any time, but this will not affect any existing booked or agreed session with you.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Please provide a minimum of 48-hours notice if you need to reschedule or cancel your session. Fees must be paid by bank transfer a minimum of 48h prior the booked session. If payment is not received in this time-frame, I reserve the right to cancel the booked session. A charge of 100% of the arranged fee will apply for sessions cancelled with less than 48-hours notice. A “no show” will also incur in a charge of 100% of the arranged fee.

If you wish to cancel your hypnotherapy session, please phone or email immediately.

I reserve the right to cancel an appointment at my sole discretion, this will only be in exceptional circumstances. If this should occur, then I will try to give as much notice as possible. I will not be liable for any financial or other consequences of the cancellation.

Rescheduling of sessions is subject to availability, and no changes are possible within 48 hours of your appointment.

REFUND POLICY

Hypnotherapy sessions are not eligible for refunds, as the fees are paid for my time. However, I may decide to offer a free session if there was an issue or concern with the session.

At the end of each hypnotherapy session, I will check that you are satisfied with the session, and will ask for your feedback related to the hypnotherapy process. If you feel any doubt or apprehension during or immediately following a hypnotherapy session, it is in your best interest to communicate this with me as soon as possible, so we can discuss it together.

If I should have any concerns throughout your hypnotherapy session, I will discuss it further with you to determine the recommended course of action. You have the option to take my recommendations or to not go ahead with future sessions. If you have paid in advance for the hypnotherapy sessions and should decide to not go ahead with them, you will be refunded the amount paid in advance (only for the sessions that have not yet been completed).

Results cannot be guaranteed: each client is different and results may vary based on their personal circumstances, their desire to change and their commitment to follow instructions during and after the hypnotherapy session.

DISCLAIMER

I will always do my best to help you achieve a successful outcome to your hypnotherapy. However, you accept that an agreement to work on an issue does not mean that a particular outcome to hypnotherapy can be guaranteed. Fees are payable for your sessions and for the time and expertise of the hypnotherapist, regardless of the outcome. Results may differ from person to person.

Hypnotherapy sessions are not intended to be a substitute for professional medical or psychological advice, diagnosis and treatment. Please consult with your GP prior to your treatment to diagnose and treat any medical conditions.

If I should believe that you may be better served by another hypnotherapist/professional to reach your goals, I may advise you to contact another professional.

Please note that there may be times within your sessions when you feel that hypnotherapy is not helping you. Please discuss this with me, if this should be the case.

STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOUR

I will use best practice at all times and adhere to the standards of conduct as stated by my professional body (the Professional Hypnotherapy Practitioner Association - PHPA). In return by attending your session you agree to the following standards of behaviour:

1. Be free from drugs and alcohol (except medication prescribed by your doctor).
2. Take your therapy seriously and treat me (the hypnotherapist) with respect.

If you demonstrate violent, abusive or anti-social behaviour, I reserve the right to cancel the session and any future sessions. 

You accept that the session or session booking may be terminated without notice or reimbursement if I should determine that the consultation is being used for any reason other than personal hypnotherapy, or if the proper conditions to carry out the sessions are not met (e.g., if someone else is present in the room without prior acknowledgment and/or without my prior explicit consent). 

I reserve the right to refuse to provide hypnotherapy to any individual for any reason.

You agree to submit only true and accurate information and will not omit any information that might be significant for your hypnotherapy session.

You accept and understand that your emotions, behaviours, thoughts and beliefs always remain within your control, as that no client is “made” to do anything against their will while in hypnosis.

SUITABILITY FOR ONLINE THERAPY

1. You are 18 years of age and over, and resident in the UK. 
2. You are not under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs prior to starting your consultation.
3. You are not under the supervision of a psychiatrist or suffering from any diagnosed psychiatric condition, psychological illness or epilepsy.

COMPLETION OF INITIAL QUESTIONNAIRE

During your initial consultation and decision to start hypnotherapy with me, you agree to complete an initial questionnaire by email. This will include your personal details, your GP details, your emergency details, and any medical and lifestyle issues that could affect the hypnotherapy sessions.

PRE-ASSESSMENT ONLINE VIDEO CALL

During your initial free consultation (15 minutes, with no obligation), we will assess media compatibility for the delivery of online sessions and will discuss any remedial action should technology malfunctions or fails.

SOFTWARE MALFUNCTION OR FAILURE

I am not responsible for direct or consequential loss due to internet service failure, virus/trojan/malware, or software malfunctions. No fees refunds will be given when technological malfunction or failure is on your part.

Where there are technological malfunctions on my part, I will attempt to reconnect in the online session during the allotted time. In the event of a complete technological failure on my part, the appointment will be rescheduled to a mutually agreeable time to complete the remaining time left for the session.

CONFIDENTIALITY

All written information taken before, during and after your hypnotherapy session is  treated as highly confidential. Please refer to my Privacy Policy for full details.

Most online communication media is encrypted and there may only be a security breach if one of the participating computers (or other hardware) contains a virus/trojan/malware. I use updated anti-virus and anti-malware software to reduce the likelihood of any security breach. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have sufficient updated internet security measures in place to maintain confidentiality on your behalf. You agree that you are responsible for keeping your video-conference link and connection details secure and accept that I am not liable in the event you should fail to comply with this.

TERMS & CONDITIONS UPDATES

These additional terms and conditions are subject to revisions without notice. Please check for amendments, especially if you have restarted hypnotherapy after a long period of absence. These Terms and conditions were last updated on: 30 September 2024.
